The Asia-Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) recently announced a new schedule for its Season 9 Macau stop which is scheduled to take place between the 20th-31st of May 2015. The new schedule which was initially pushed back a week from the earlier announced dates will be held over a 12 day period and take place at the City of Dreams casino at the PokerStars LIVE Macau poker room.
Macau’s casino industry has been going through a torrid time since early 2014 due to the anti-corruption crackdown by the Chinese government and the casino industry has lost more than $100 billion during the last 12 months. Macau’s casinos will be looking to capitalize from the influx of poker players and tourists that they APPT will bring.
PokerStars, the biggest online poker website in the world will be sponsoring the tournament and will commence online satellites on the 16th of March for the APPT Macau Main Event. The tournament is scheduled to end with the APPT Macau Main Event that has a buy-in for HKD $25,000 which is around $3,200.

Team PokerStars Online Pro Randy Lew who won the APPT Macau event in 2011 will most likely make a return to see if he can win the tournament again.

Apart from the Main Event, the APPT will also feature a number of exciting events such as APPT Macau Warm-up MEGA Satellite (10 Seat Guarantee) that has a buy-in for HKD$1,000; 4 – APPT Macau Warm-up ($1,000,000 Guarantee) [2-day event] with a buy-in for HKD$ 5,000; Main Event MEGA Satellite (10 Seat Guarantee) with a buy-in for HKD$ 3,500 and the High Roller Satellite with a buy-in for HKD$14,000.

PokerStars has released the schedule for the Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) events in Korea and the Philippines taking place in April and July respectively. This will follow the official opening of the PokerStars LIVE poker room at Okada Manila on February 9.
The Okada Manila Millions tournament will also make a début on February 9, with the Main Event featuring a total prize pool of PHP2 million (approximately $38,250). The champion will get the top prize of PHP500,000 (approximately $9,550).

PokerStars LIVE, located at the Coral Wing of Okada Manila, will be the venue for Manila Megastack 11, which will run from March 1 – 10.

Players will compete for the festival’s total prize pool of PHP17 million ($325,000). PHP10 million ($191,200) in guarantees is also up for grabs at the Megastack Main Event.

Players will flock to the luxurious Paradise City in Incheon Complex, South Korea for the Korean leg of the APPT. Running between April 5 – 14, APPT Korea will feature four events with combined guarantees of KRW430,000,000 (approximately $385,000).

A two-day APPT Kickoff takes place on April 5 & 6, with KRW 50,000,000 in total guarantees up for grabs. APPT National is scheduled for April 7 & 8 featuring a total prize pool of KRW 80,000,000. APPT Manila is set to take place from July 26 – August 4, and is expected to be well-attended, considering that Manila is a favourite spot for poker in the Philippines. The Manila stop will also have four events, which include a PHP3,000,000 guaranteed APPT Kickoff on July 26 – 27, as well as an APPT National event on July 28 & 29 (PHP 5 Million Guaranteed).
A PHP500,000 Super High Roller event is also in store for high-stakes players and will take place on July 31. It will be followed by the Main Event on August 1, with the winner being announced on the final day, August 4. The Manila Main Event features a total prize pool of PHP 20,000,000.
